The Fall of Mexica is a top-down adventure game featuring a historically-accurate recreation of 16th century Mexico, taking place during the Spanish invasion of the country. Explore a portion of the capital city of Tenochtitlan as a Nahual citizen, and help prepare the welcoming ceremony for the incoming Spanish villagers. The Fall of Mexica is intended to be a small chapter part of a larger-sized game, depicting the entirety of the Spanish invasion of Mexico.
The Fall of Mexica was developed for the History by Design class at Fitchburg State University, where we were required to produce a historically-accurate educational experience based on a particular time period. Our team worked closely with primary sources from the 16th Century Spanish invasion of Mexico throughout development. Based on iterative feedback from History professors Joseph Wachtel and Jon Amakawa we ensured that our characters, n arrative, and gameplay would accurately reflect the events depicted during this time period.
